When the expulsion from the uterus occurs after the foetus becomes viable (capable of independent life), usually at the end of six months of pregnancy, it is technically a premature birth. In the United Kingdom, when the foetus is not born alive after 24 weeks of pregnancy it is termed a still birth. II. Types of AbortionPrint section Abortion may be spontaneous or induced. In August 20111 only 62% of households with income less that $30,000 use the internet.When you compare these numbers to those making over $75,000 that have an internet usage of 97%, the Digital Divide is evident. Of the mobile devices, smartphones are becoming more widely used than basic cell phones. Among American adults 46% now has a smartphone. (Smith, Zickuhr, 2012) There are groups that have greater levels of smartphone use such as higher income, well educated and those under age 50.These groups also have higher rates of technology use. Younger a dults (under age 30) do have a higher than average level of smartphone use no matter their income or education. Those younger adults with only a high school education or less are actually more likely to own a smartphone than older adults (age 50 and over) who have gone to college. The same holds true for income, young adults in the lower income bracket (under $30,000) are more likely to have a smartphone than older adults in the higher income bracket. If we were to look through American history, we can witness many victories as well as many shames. One of the most famous ignominies was the Salem witch trials in 1692. During the witch trials, many were wrongfully accused and some were executed. There are many theories about why this horror story commenced, but there are no clear appointed reasons. Medical factors may have contributed to the events such as ergot poisoning, traumatic stress, and mass hysteria. Considering that this was an early time in American history, it was likely that these factors were overlooked and ignored. This is a mystery impossible to overlook. The first accusations were made by Reverend Parris’ niece, Abigail and daughter Betty. At the time Parris’ daughter was sick and no one could diagnose her with any medical issues. She showed symptoms of throwing temper tantrums, spoke in strange manners, and sensations of being pinched, among others. Health professionals believe that their actions were reflections of post-traumatic syndrome or perhaps abusive parents (The Economist, A31). In my social psychology class, there was a recent examination given to the class. It was the mid-term examination. For the mid-term examination, the class was Instructed to read chapters 1-6 In the text book. The class was also Instructed to study for the exam by reviewing the lecture notes. In this paper I will focus on a few questions I answered incorrectly on my mid-term examination. The exam contained 48 multiple choice questions and two true/false questions. Out of this 50 questions total, I answered 18 incorrectly. One of the questions I will focus on is located on the second page. The question reads, Nicole has Just met some new people in her dorm. During a discussion on campus Issues, she modifies her opinions so that they match those of her new friends. The most likely reason Nicole did this Is that (Husks). For the question I answered D, which stated the reason Nicole changed her opinion was to create similarity as a successful ingratiation strategy. Well, of course this answer is wrong. The correct answer to this question is choice C. C states the Nicole alter her opinion because she is a low self-monitor. Self-monitoring is the tendency to be harmonically concerned with ones public image and to adjust ones actions to fit the needs of the current situation (Kenny, Number, Cladding 107).
